Siyu Junior High opened in 1969 as "Taichung Municipal 12th Junior High," built on requisitioned farmland to serve the working-class Xiaqiaozitou neighborhood as South District urbanized in the late 1960s. It took its current name, Siyu, in 1971. In recent years, the school has become a strong performer in digital-reading and information-technology competitions.
四育國民中學於民國58年(1969年)以「臺中市立第十二國民中學」之名創立,建於徵收自農地的校地上,服務1960年代末南區都市化過程中興起的下橋仔頭社區勞工家庭。學校於1971年更名為現名「四育」。近年來,學校在數位閱讀與資訊科技競賽方面表現亮眼。
