Shuangshi Junior High School

Shuangshi Junior High traces its roots to 1954, when it began as a branch campus; it became an independent school in 1968 and took its present name in 1971. The name "Shuangshi" — literally "Double Ten," referring to October 10, the Republic of China's National Day — commemorates the school's founding site at the Taichung Martyrs' Shrine. In 1973, Shuangshi established Taiwan's first-ever music-gifted class at the junior high level, launching a musical tradition that culminated in the school's students sweeping a "triple crown" at the 2016 national student music competition.

雙十國中源起於民國43年（1954年）設立的分校，民國57年（1968年）獨立設校，民國60年（1971年）定名為「雙十」，取自中華民國國慶日「雙十節」，紀念校址原為台中忠烈祠所在地。民國62年（1973年），雙十國中成立全台第一個國中音樂資優班，開啟深厚的音樂教育傳統，並於2016年在全國學生音樂比賽中一舉奪下「三冠王」佳績。
