From a borrowed room to an independent campus.
Shipai Elementary began in 1954 as a temporary branch campus of Kuaiguan Elementary School, meeting in a community gathering space in Shipai Village. It became an independent school in September 1961 under its first principal, Shi Haican. From the 1990s onward the school modernized steadily, adding new sports courts, an elevator, and earthquake-reinforcement work, and in 2010 it formed a sister-school relationship with Xiwei Elementary School in Wuri Township, Taichung County.
