Geology, turned into a classroom.
Shijiao Elementary began as a branch school in 1951 and became independent in 1953, sitting at the foot of the Xueshan (Snow Mountain) range on Dongshi's eastern edge. The school has built and maintains its own fossil museum, home to more than 20,000 specimens, turning its location amid the Dajia River gorge's dramatic geology into a hands-on teaching resource.
