Born from a neighboring school's overflow.
Shenren Elementary traces its site preparation to 1967, with its school building completed the following year. The school formally opened in September 1969 as "Changhua County Shen Ren Elementary School," welcoming 731 students and 16 staff members transferred directly from neighboring Hsinkang (新港) Elementary School. First principal Tseng Ming-de took office that August, and the campus — covering nearly 6,900 square meters — has served the children of Shengang Township ever since.
What makes this school worth knowing.
🏫 A School Built to Meet a Need
應需而生的學校
Shenren was established as Shengang Township's population grew quickly in the late 1960s, giving local children a school of their own rather than a long commute to Hsinkang.
👥 A Ready-Made Community
現成的師生社群
The school opened with an entire student body and teaching staff transferred wholesale from Hsinkang Elementary — a rare founding story that gave Shenren an instant community from day one.
🌾 Rooted in Rural Shengang
扎根伸港鄉土
Located in Zengjia Village, the school remains closely tied to the farming and fishing communities of Shengang Township along Changhua's coastal plain.
Shengang Township's rapid growth years.
Shenren's founding reflects a moment of rapid growth in Shengang Township's rural communities during the late 1960s, when the area's expanding population outgrew the capacity of its existing schools. See the Changhua county page for more on the region.
