Sanxia Junior High opened in 1946 as "Taipei County Sanxia Junior Middle School," the first junior high in the district, embodying the rapid postwar expansion of public education after Taiwan's 1945 retrocession. It originally used the Japanese-era "常小學" school site on Wenhua Road before the nine-year compulsory education reform brought its renaming to the current form in 1968. The school moved to its present Fuxing Road campus in 1992, where it continues to serve students in the historic river town.
三峽國中創立於民國35年（1946年），初名「臺北縣立三峽初級中學」，是三峽第一所國民中學，體現了1945年台灣光復後公共教育迅速擴張的時代背景。創校初期借用文化路上日治時期「常小學」校舍，民國57年（1968年）因九年國教改制而更名為現名，並於民國81年（1992年）遷至現址復興路校區，持續服務這座歷史悠久的河港古鎮。
