Born from an air base, moved for safety.
Ruliu Elementary began in 1950 as the "Air Force Taichung Children's School, Gongguan Branch," set up to educate the children of Air Force families stationed near Ching Chuan Kang Air Base. It became an independent school in 1969. In 1996, the campus relocated to its current site due to concerns over aircraft noise and safety near the base, a move that reshaped the school while preserving its military-community roots.
