A small school with a big drumbeat.
Ruiping Elementary began in 1955 as a branch of neighboring Jiabao Elementary School, becoming independent in 1963. Rooted in Houkeng, a small hillside hamlet on Linkou's rural fringe, the school remains small today — about 6 classes and 71 students — reflecting the area's pre-new-town agricultural village pattern. Despite its size, its waist-drum team earned national honors in 2018.
