Rinan Elementary School opened in 1912 during the Japanese colonial era as the Rinan Public School, starting with just 39 students. It has since grown to roughly 555 students across 22 classes, serving the Rinan coastal-plain community north of the Dajia River — one of the district's older Han-settlement areas.
