Named for the family that shaped Jiufen's gold rush.
Qinxian Junior High was established in 1967, with a second-phase campus completed in 1970, on land donated by Yan Qinxian (顏欽賢) of the Taiyang Mining Company, after whom the school is named. The school operates a main campus in Jiufen and a branch campus in Bitou, serving students across Ruifang's mountain and coastal communities.

Built on a gold-mining family's fortune.
