Qiaoxiao Elementary School began in 1955 as a branch of the century-old Beitun Elementary School, becoming an independent school in 1960. With around 744 students today, the school was designated a Ministry of Education "information exemplary school" in 2004, recognizing its use of technology in teaching. In 2001, the school suffered flooding damage during Typhoon Nari, one of the most destructive storms in Taiwan's recent history. Its founding reflects Beitun's mid-1950s population growth along Beitun Road.
僑孝國小於民國44年(1955年)以北屯國小分班形式成立,民國49年(1960年)正式獨立設校。目前全校約有744名學生,曾於民國93年(2004年)獲教育部評選為資訊教育績優學校,肯定其於教學上運用科技的成果。民國90年(2001年)納莉颱風來襲時,校舍曾遭受水患損害。其創校歷程反映了北屯路一帶於1950年代中期的人口成長。
