Puxin Elementary School

Puxin Elementary was founded in 1925 under Japanese colonial rule as "Poxin Public School, Poxin Branch Teaching Center," gaining independent status by 1930. Centrally located in Yimin Village between Yuanlin and Xihu near major highways, the school reached a peak enrollment of over 2,000 students in the 1960s. As nine-year compulsory education expanded and the local population grew, two schools — Taiping and Mingsheng Elementary — were later spun off from Puxin, making it the founding "mother school" of the township's education system.

埔心國小創立於1925年（民國14年）日治時期，最初名為「坡心公學校坡心分教場」，1930年（民國19年）獨立設校。學校位於員林與溪湖之間的義民村，鄰近主要道路，交通便利。在1960年代（民國50年代）全盛時期，學生人數曾超過兩千人。隨著九年國教推行與地方人口增長，太平國小與明聖國小相繼從埔心國小分設獨立，使埔心國小成為埔心鄉教育體系的「母校」。
