National Taichung University of Science and Technology traces its history to 1919, when it was founded during the Japanese colonial era as the Taichung Public School of Commerce — one of the oldest commerce-focused educational institutions in Taiwan. In 2011 it merged with a nursing college, broadening its academic scope. Today the university operates across two campuses, San-min and Min-sheng, in central Taichung, serving around 11,000 students.
國立臺中科技大學創立於1919年（日治時期），前身為臺中州立商業學校，是台灣歷史最悠久的商業教育機構之一。民國100年（2011年）與護理學院合併，拓展了學校的學術範疇。現今學校於台中市中心設有三民與民生兩個校區，在學學生約11,000人。
