Over 125 years at the heart of old Nantun.
Nantun Elementary traces its roots to 1898, when it opened as Litoudian Public School (犁頭店公學校), first holding classes inside the Wenchang Shrine (文昌祠) temple. Today, more than 125 years later, it remains one of the oldest schools in Taichung, still neighbored by Wanhe Temple (萬和宮), the Wenchang Shrine, and Nantun Old Street — the very Qing-dynasty trading hub, Litoudian, out of which the school was born.
