Mingsheng Elementary was established in September 1984, splitting off from Puxin Elementary School as the local population grew. It takes its name from Mingsheng Temple (明聖宮), the institution that contributed the most funding toward the school's construction. Starting with just seven classrooms in its first phase, the campus has since expanded across five development phases to 36 classrooms. The school is also known for a strong handball program with consistent county-level competition success, and it places particular emphasis on "emotional education" alongside academics.
明聖國小創立於民國73年（1984年）9月，隨著地方人口增長由埔心國小分設獨立。校名取自出資興建校舍最多的在地信仰中心「明聖宮」。第一期工程僅有七間教室，歷經五期擴建工程後，如今已擴增至36間教室。學校的手球隊在縣內競賽中表現亮眼、屢獲佳績，同時也格外重視「情緒教育」，與學業並重發展。
