A school raised by its community.
Minglun Junior High was founded in 1968 in response to the nationwide introduction of nine-year compulsory education. It was initially named "Yuanxin Junior High" (員新國中) before being renamed to its current name, Minglun. Enrollment began that September under first principal Xiao Chuanming, with classes temporarily held elsewhere while the school's own buildings were completed. Sited at the foot of Baiguoshan (百果山麓), a local landmark hill, the school was founded through the direct sponsorship of local community gentry. Under principal Liu Mingzhao, who took office in 1977, the school's academic performance rose to become one of the leading schools in Changhua County.
