From a small branch campus to a community anchor.
Meifeng Elementary began in 1952 as "Xigang National School Meifeng Branch," a satellite campus of Xigang National School. It became an independent school in August 1964 as Meifeng National School, under its first principal, Lin Wen-li. In 1968, when Taiwan implemented nine-year compulsory education, it was renamed Meifeng Elementary School, the name it carries today. The school has celebrated its 60th anniversary with a commemorative magazine and community sports day.
美豐國小創立於民國41年（1952年），最初名為「西港國民學校美豐分校」，是西港國民學校的分校。民國53年（1964年）8月獨立設校，定名「美豐國民學校」，首任校長為林文理。民國57年（1968年）隨九年國教實施，改名為「美豐國民小學」，沿用至今。學校曾出版六十週年校慶特刊，並舉辦社區運動會慶祝活動。
