龍埔國小校名於民國90年（2001年）核定，籌備處於民國97年（2008年）成立，至民國101年（2012年）達到一至六年級全額招生。學校是「臺北大學特定區」整體計畫的一環，隨國立臺北大學設校同步規劃，與另外一所國小、兩所國中共同納入計畫。如今龍埔國小推動雙語實驗教育課程，展現其做為一所因應新興、具國際視野大學城而生的學校定位。
