Longjin Elementary School began in 1922 as a branch of Longjing Public School located in Sankuaicuo, an old Han-Chinese farming hamlet whose name literally means "Three House-Clusters" — a common settlement pattern in Longjing's inland farming villages. The school moved to its current site in 1923, was renamed "Sankuaicuo National School" in 1941, and took its present name, "Longjin," in 1946, preserving the memory of the original hamlet through its history even as its name changed.
龍津國小創立於民國11年（1922年），最初為龍井公學校位於「三塊厝」的分校，「三塊厝」字面意義為「三座房屋聚落」，是龍井區內陸農村常見的聚落型態。學校於1923年遷至現址，1941年更名為「三塊厝國民學校」，並於1946年正式定名為「龍津」，即使校名幾經更迭，仍在校史中保存著這個古老聚落的地方記憶。
