From six borrowed classrooms to an international award.
Jisui Junior High School opened in 1971 with just six classes, initially borrowing classroom space from neighboring Jisui Elementary School. In 1973, it pioneered one of the area's earliest junior-high night and continuing-education programs. Decades later, in 2014, the school won an international Health-Promoting School award. Its name comes from the Jisui neighborhood, one of the paddy-field hamlets absorbed into Zhonghe's postwar urban sprawl.

Named for a paddy-field hamlet.
