Founded to ease growing pains in a booming pottery town.
Jianshan Junior High was established in 1989 as Yingge's ceramics industry and highway-driven economy fueled rapid population growth, easing overcrowding at the district's original Yingge Junior High. The school appointed its first formal principal in 1994 and has since grown into a mid-sized campus of 14 regular classes plus 3 physical-education classes, with an attached kindergarten. It has built a strong athletic reputation, particularly in baseball, wrestling, and track and field.
