About · 學校簡介

From a girls' home economics school to a heritage campus.

Jianhua Junior High School traces its origins to May 5, 1939, when it was founded under Japanese rule as "新竹州立高等女子家政學校," a girls' home economics school. After Taiwan's retrocession, it was reorganized in 1946 as "新竹市立新竹初級中學," an all-boys junior high school. A senior high division was added in 1950 but cut again in 1956. In 1951, the school relocated to its current site at the western foot of Shibajianshan (Eighteen Peaks Mountain), and was renamed "建華國中" in 1968. Its historic campus buildings are now recognized as part of Hsinchu's registered cultural heritage assets.
