A school growing up alongside the Science Park.
Jiangong Elementary was established on May 1, 1958 as Hsinchu County Hsinchu City Jiangong National School, with its first principal, Liu Yuhua, taking office that October. The school went through several renamings over the following decades — in 1968, 1982, and again in 2002 — as Hsinchu's administrative status changed. In 2025 the school celebrated its 67th anniversary, with school-based curricula that now emphasize global citizenship and sustainability. Its recorder ensemble has won national honors twice, in 2009 and 2015, and the school received a bronze certification from the Ministry of Education's health-promotion program in 2012.
