Jiangcui Junior High School began planning in 1976, developing through 1977–1987 under founding-era principal Qiu Yi-ming. The school established a gifted math/science program in 1980 and a dance program in 1981, and today is known for its gifted classes, athletics classes, and dance program. It sits near Jiangzicui (江子翠), by the confluence of the Xindian and Dahan Rivers.
江翠國中於民國65年（1976年）開始籌設，歷經民國66年至76年（1977年至1987年）的建校歷程，創校校長為邱奕明。學校於民國69年（1980年）成立數理資優班，民國70年（1981年）成立舞蹈班，如今以資優班、體育班與舞蹈班聞名。校址鄰近新店溪與大漢溪匯流處的江子翠地區。
