Hsiushui Junior High School

Hsiushui Junior High began in 1963 as a branch class under Lukang Junior High, hosted at the county agricultural school. It was renamed "Xiushui Agricultural School Affiliated Junior High" in 1964, before splitting off entirely as an independent school on October 23, 1967 — the date the school marks as its official founding anniversary. In 1968, it converted to the nine-year compulsory education system, becoming today's Hsiushui Junior High School. A decade later, in 1978, the school added a supplementary continuing-education program for community adults, extending its role beyond its student body.

秀水國中前身為民國52年（1963年）附設於縣立秀水農校內的鹿港國中分班，民國53年（1964年）改稱「秀水農校附設初級中學部」，於民國56年（1967年）10月23日正式獨立設校——此日期也是學校訂定的校慶紀念日。民國57年（1968年）配合九年國民義務教育改制，成為今日的秀水國中。民國67年（1978年），學校增設補校，為社區成人提供持續學習的機會。
