Hsiushui Elementary School

Hsiushui Elementary is one of the oldest schools in the region, founded on May 9, 1899, originally as a branch of Lukang Public School named "Yaxing Branch School." The school went through several name changes and mergers — Yaxing Public School, then Puqianglun Public School — before merging with the Hsiushui branch classroom in 1928 to form Hsiushui Public School at its present site. It has remained in continuous operation on essentially the same grounds ever since, more than 125 years of schooling in one place. Over the decades, the school has spun off three branch schools that later became fully independent: Shanxi Elementary, Mingzheng Elementary, and Hualong Elementary.

秀水國小是全區歷史最悠久的學校之一，創立於西元1899年5月9日，前身為鹿港公學校的分校，名為「崙雅分校」。歷經多次改名與合併——崙雅公學校、普庄崙公學校——於民國17年（1928年）與秀水分教場合併，成立秀水公學校，落腳於現址。自此以來，學校在同一片土地上持續辦學超過125年。這段歲月中，秀水國小也陸續分出三所分校，後來各自獨立設校：山下國小、明正國小，以及華龍國小。
