Over a century under many names.
Fuyuan Elementary was established in 1914 under Japanese rule as "Bazai Public School," and has carried several different names through both the colonial period and the postwar decades since. Located in Ruisui Township, it shares its "Fuyuan" name with the separate Fuyuan Junior High School in neighboring Guangfu Township — the two are distinct institutions in different townships, though both draw on the broader Fuyuan community that straddles the border between them.
