A century of educating Hsinchu's young women.

National Hsinchu Girls' Senior High School traces its roots to April 1924, when it opened under Japanese rule as Shinchiku Prefectural Hsinchu Higher Girls' School, initially holding classes in borrowed premises at Hsinchu Elementary School until its own building was completed in 1926. After Taiwan's retrocession, it was re-established in November-December 1945 as Taiwan Provincial Hsinchu Girls' Junior and Senior High School. The school became senior-high-only in 1958, opened a co-ed fine arts program in 1988, and converted to national administration in February 1989.
