Shuiyuan Elementary School

Shuiyuan Elementary was established in 1977 within a designated water-source protection zone on the edge of Hsinchu City, an area that has preserved a small rural and farming landscape even as the city has grown around it. The school's curriculum centers on ecology — students take part in rice planting, vegetable growing, and chicken raising alongside local farmers. Its Chinese orchestra has won the national top honor eight times, and a teacher-student micro-documentary from the school won first prize in the Ministry of Education's inaugural Education Golden Image Award.

水源國小創校於民國66年（1977年），座落於新竹市邊緣一處劃定的水源保護區內，即使城市持續發展，該地區仍保留一小片鄉村與農作地景。學校的校本課程以生態為核心，學生與在地農民一同參與種稻、種菜與養雞等活動。學校國樂團曾八度榮獲全國賽事最高榮譽，師生共同製作的微紀錄片也曾獲教育部首屆「教育金像獎」首獎。
