A school built to shorten a difficult commute.

Gaofeng Elementary was formally established on September 1, 2004, built to address transportation difficulties faced by students living in the Gaofeng area. The campus is designed around an arts-based school-building philosophy, often described as an "urban forest." It sits near the Gaofeng Botanical Garden to the north, is adjacent to Phase 2 of the Science Park to the southeast, and lies near the Guqifeng Guan Gong statue to the west — placing the school amid a mix of nature, industry, and local landmarks.

高峰國小於民國93年(2004年)9月1日正式成立,設校目的是解決高峰地區學童通學交通不便的問題。校園以藝術為本的建築理念設計,常被形容為「都市森林」。學校北鄰高峰植物園,東南側緊鄰科學園區二期,西側則靠近古奇峰關公像,座落於自然、產業與在地地標交會之處。
