Beimen Elementary was founded on April 10, 1899, as "Shulintou Public School," holding its first classes at Shulintou Jingfu Temple with just 40 students. The school relocated to its present Shuitian neighborhood in 1907 due to space constraints, and was renamed several times through the decades — "Xinzhu Second Public School" in 1921, "Xinzhu City Beimen National School" in 1941, and finally "Beimen Elementary School" in 1947. In December 2021, two of its campus buildings were designated municipal historic sites. (Note: while the school's founding is generally dated to 1899, some sources instead cite a 1919 renaming milestone — this page follows the earlier 1899 founding date, with that discrepancy noted here for transparency.)
北門國小創校於明治32年（1899年）4月10日，初名「樹林頭公學校」，最初借用樹林頭景福宮作為校舍，僅有40名學生。民國前5年（1907年），因空間不足遷至現今的水田里。校名歷經數次更迭：大正10年（1921年）改稱「新竹第二公學校」，昭和16年（1941年）改為「新竹市北門國民學校」，民國36年（1947年）定名為「北門國小」。民國110年（2021年）12月，兩棟校舍獲登錄為市定古蹟。（註：學校創校年代一般認定為1899年，惟部分資料以1919年的更名事件為據，本頁採用較早的1899年創校說法，並在此註明兩者間的差異，以求資訊透明。）
