Hanbao Elementary traces its roots to 1941, when it opened as "Bazhou National School," a branch school established during the Japanese colonial era. It became an independent school in 1951 and took on its current name, Hanbao National School, in 1957. The school marked its 70th anniversary in 2001 with a round of campus renovations, and today continues to serve the children of Hanbao Village, a coastal community on Changhua's western shore.
漢寶國小的歷史可追溯至民國30年（1941年），創校之初為日治時期設立的「八洲國民學校」分校。民國40年（1951年）獨立設校，民國46年（1957年）更名為漢寶國民小學。學校於民國90年（2001年）舉辦建校七十週年慶祝活動，並進行校園整建，至今持續服務彰化縣芳苑鄉漢寶村這個西部沿海聚落的學童。
