From a girls' school to a founding root of three schools.
Guanghua Junior High was founded in 1956 as "新竹縣立第一女子初級中學" (Hsinchu County First Girls' Junior High School) under founder Cao Jinying. It became coeducational and took its current name in 1968, alongside Taiwan's nine-year compulsory education reform, and became a municipal school in 1982. Over the following decades, two of its branch campuses grew into fully independent schools: Nanhua Junior High in 1983 and Sanmin Junior High in 1991.
