Ganlin Elementary School

Ganlin Elementary's history stretches back to 1919, when it opened as a branch classroom of Shuangxi Public School in Ganjiao, becoming independent in 1923. Located in Ganjiao, a former coal-mining hamlet in the mountains of Shuangxi, the school's enrollment peaked around 900 students during its mining-boom heyday. Today it serves only about 10 students, and is affectionately described as a "refined mini forest school" — embodying the district's shift from a bustling mining economy to a sparsely populated rural area.

柑林國小校史可追溯至大正8年（1919年），最初為雙溪公學校柑腳分校場，大正12年（1923年）獨立設校。學校位於柑腳——雙溪山區一處昔日的採礦聚落，礦業全盛時期學生數曾達近900人。如今在校生僅約10人，被暱稱為「精緻迷你森林小學」——體現雙溪從繁忙礦業經濟轉變為人口稀少鄉村地區的歷程。
