Fuying Junior High School opened in 1981 with just 14 classes, one of several junior highs built in Xinzhuang during the district's 1980s population boom as industrialization drew in migrant workers and their families. The school grew rapidly, eventually expanding past 100 classes, and rebuilt its entire campus between 1994 and 1995 to keep pace. It is known today for its baseball team and a career-exploration and maker-education center.
