Born from a 1970s population boom.
Fuhe Junior High was founded in 1979, with its first classes beginning in September 1980, as Yonghe's population grew rapidly through the 1970s. It opened as a girls-only school before returning to co-ed enrollment in 1993, and it shares the same odd/even household-ID district split with neighboring Yonghe Junior High.
What makes this school worth knowing.
👧 Originally a Girls-Only School
創校初期為女校
Fuhe opened in 1980 as a girls-only junior high before returning to co-ed enrollment in 1993, mirroring the same shift seen at neighboring Yonghe Junior High.
📈 Founded to Relieve a Population Boom
紓解人口壓力而設
The school's 1979 founding directly answered Yonghe's rapid 1970s population growth, which had outgrown the district's first junior high within a decade.
🔢 Sharing an ID-Number District Split
共用單雙號學區制度
Like Yonghe Junior High, Fuhe draws its students by the last digit of their household-registration ID number — a shared local zoning arrangement between the two schools.
A second school for a booming bedroom town.
Fuhe's founding directly reflects 1970s Yonghe's population boom as a cross-river bedroom community for Taipei, which outgrew its first junior high within a decade. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
