An old-town school reinvented through technology.
Fuchun Elementary School was established in 1945–46, taking over the campus of a former Japanese settlers' elementary school after Taiwan's retrocession. Located in Fengyuan's historic old town, its enrollment peaked at 50 classes before declining to as few as 12 by 2015 as the neighborhood's population aged. In 2017, the school won a grant to become Taichung's first "Maker Education and Technology Center," giving this old-town campus a new lease on life through technology education.
