Fu Jen Catholic University

Fu Jen Catholic University traces its founding to 1925 (民國14年), when it was established in Beijing by the Societas Verbi Divini (the Society of the Divine Word). After the university's mainland operations ended amid the political upheavals of the mid-20th century, it was re-established in Taiwan in 1961, with its present Xinzhuang campus opening in 1963. Today Fu Jen is organized into twelve colleges and remains the only Catholic university in the Chinese-speaking world placed under the direct authority of the Vatican's Congregation for Catholic Education, a distinction that shapes its identity within Taiwan's private higher-education landscape.

輔仁大學創立於民國14年（1925年），由聖言會（天主教聖言會）在北京創辦。歷經20世紀中葉的政局變動，大陸時期校務中斷後，於民國50年（1961年）在台灣復校，現今新莊校區則於民國52年（1963年）啟用。現今輔大設有十二個學院，並且是全球華語世界中唯一直屬梵蒂岡天主教教育部管轄的天主教大學，此一特殊地位也形塑了輔大在台灣私立高等教育中的獨特定位。
