A patient rise from branch campus to full school.
Fenglun Elementary opened in 1956 as a branch campus of Hexing Elementary School, becoming independent in 1962. Its early years were modest — for 25 years, until 1980, the school made do without a proper sports ground because of its small, poorly-equipped original site. Today the school has grown into a well-rounded campus with a dedicated school history room, an AV classroom, a nature classroom, and a computer lab, and its students have recently earned recognition in a county comics competition and the National Science Exhibition.

For a quarter century after opening, the school made do without a proper sports ground — a reminder of the modest rural resources it grew from before later expansion.
Gradual growth in rural Pitou Township.
Fenglun Elementary grew from a small branch school with limited land into a full elementary school through decades of gradual expansion — a story that reflects the modest rural resources of Pitou Township 埤頭鄉 in the mid-20th century. See the Changhua county page for more on the region.
