Feng Chia University was founded in 1961 (ROC 50) and reached full university status in 1980. Today it is one of Taiwan's largest private universities, with more than 20,000 students, and is especially strong in engineering, information technology, and business/management. The university also runs the Fengjia Night Market immediately adjacent to campus — one of Taichung's best-known landmarks.
逢甲大學創立於民國50年（1961年），並於民國69年（1980年）改制升格為大學。現今為台灣規模最大的私立大學之一，學生人數逾20,000人，工程、資訊與商管領域尤為突出。校方經營的逢甲夜市就緊鄰校園，是台中市最著名的地標之一。
