Grown through Douliu's postwar expansion.
Gongcheng Elementary was established in 1960. In 1964, it absorbed the Huxi and Sanping village school-zone areas, taking on 9 classes and 10 teachers transferred from Zhenxi Elementary School — a significant expansion that helped make it one of the larger elementary schools in Yunlin County. The school runs an art program with dedicated gallery space for student work, alongside a string orchestra that gives students a structured path into music.
