Dongyuan Elementary was established on August 1, 1952, and moved to its current site the following July. It took its present name, Hsinchu City East District Dongyuan Elementary School, in 1968. The campus spans roughly three hectares, and its baseball team — formed around 1961 — carries more than 55 years of history.
