Dongxi Elementary began in 1969 as a branch campus of neighboring Xihu Elementary School, becoming an independent school in November 1972. Today it is a small rural school of around seven classes and roughly 130 students, serving families in Xihu Township, a Changhua County community known for its vegetable farming. The school was recently rated "excellent" in Changhua County's 113th academic-year school affairs evaluation.
東溪國小自民國58年（1969年）起作為溪湖國小的分校，於民國61年（1972年）11月獨立設校。目前是一所小型鄉村學校，約有7班、130餘位學生，服務彰化縣溪湖鎮這個以蔬菜種植聞名的地區。學校近期在彰化縣113學年度校務評鑑中獲評「優等」。
