Dongping Elementary School was approved in 1993 as a branch of Taiping Elementary School and became independent the following year, in 1994, after Taiping Elementary's Dongping-area students effectively ‘graduated’ en masse into their own new school building. The campus sits between Zhongxing East Road, Dongping Road, and Jianxing Road.
