A school rebuilt by history.
Dayang Elementary traces its founding to 1920, during the Japanese colonial era, but its story since has been one of repeated displacement: the school has moved and been rebuilt four or five times over the past century, most recently relocating to its current site in 2000. Its original location now lies inside the grounds of Taichung International Airport. The present campus was built in a traditional Minnan red-tile style, echoing the vernacular architecture of the surrounding region.
