A postwar school on a colonial-era site.
Tamsui Junior High School was established in 1946, in the first year after the end of Japanese rule, on the site of a Japanese-era "ordinary elementary school" on Zhenli Street. As one of the district's oldest secondary schools, it has been renamed several times through subsequent administrative changes, and its hillside address places it within the same historic quarter as Fort San Domingo and Oxford College.
