A purpose-built school for a newer Bali.
Dakan Elementary was planned starting in 1997 and opened for its first enrollment on August 30, 2000. Unlike most schools in Bali, which descend from Japanese-era branch schools, Dakan was purpose-built from the outset — one of the district's newest schools, reflecting its more recent residential growth.

Growth away from the old river port.
Its late founding reflects Bali's more recent residential growth away from the old riverside port core, expanding inland as New Taipei suburbanized in the 1990s and 2000s. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
