Dajia Junior High School opened in 1968 in the heart of old Dajia town, near the district's historic Mazu-temple core. Since then it has added an art-focused class in 1989, a gifted-education class in 2005, and a sports class in 2012, broadening its academic and athletic offerings. The school has also run a "long-green academy" continuing-education program for adult learners since 1986.
大甲國中創立於民國57年(1968年),校址位於大甲舊市區核心,鄰近媽祖廟歷史街區。學校陸續於1989年增設美術班、2005年增設資優班、2012年增設體育班,逐步擴大學術與體育發展。自1986年起,學校亦開辦「長青學苑」,提供成人繼續教育課程。
