An arts hub on reclaimed river land.
Opened on 1 August 1989 as Banqiao's fifteenth elementary school, Daguan sits in the Fuzhou (浮洲) riverside district alongside the National Taiwan University of Arts, Hwa Chiao Senior High School, and Daguan Junior High — a cluster of institutions that turned a former floodplain into one of Banqiao's education hubs. The school runs an Art-Talent Class and an evening supplementary program for local families.
What makes this school worth knowing.
🎨 An Art-Talent Class
美術資優班
Daguan runs a dedicated Art-Talent Class, drawing on its location in an arts-focused education cluster to give students an early track into visual-arts training.
🏫 Part of an Education Cluster
藝術教育聚落
The school shares its Fuzhou neighborhood with the National Taiwan University of Arts, Hwa Chiao Senior High, and Daguan Junior High — an unusually dense concentration of schools for one district.
🌙 An Evening Supplementary School
附設補校
An evening supplementary school extends Daguan's classrooms to adult and continuing-education students in the community.
Built on the Dahan River's reclaimed land.
Daguan sits on 浮洲 (Fuzhou), land reclaimed from the Dahan River floodplain — a district that grew from farmland into an arts-and-education hub as the river's silt gave way to campuses and classrooms. See the New Taipei county page for more on the region.
