Dade Junior High School was established in 1964 as "Taichung Municipal Fifth Junior High School" (臺中市立第五國民中學), taking its current name in 1971. Before its own campus was completed in 1965, the school's first students held classes at nearby Datong Elementary School. As one of Beitun's earliest post-war junior highs, its founding reflects the district's early-1960s population growth. Among its notable alumni is Zhou Taiying, a former national women's soccer team player.
大德國中創立於民國53年（1964年），初名「臺中市立第五國民中學」，於民國60年（1971年）改為現名。在校舍於民國54年（1965年）完工前，首屆學生曾借用鄰近的大同國小上課。作為北屯區戰後最早設立的國中之一，其創校反映了當地民國50年代初期的人口成長。知名校友包括曾入選國家女子足球代表隊的周台英。
